This collaboration between Shanghai-based pianist Jenny Q Chai and New York composer Nils Vigeland presents five works spanning forty years in their date of composition. From the canonic processes of all in due time, the earliest of the pieces to the most recent, Allora e ora, a suite of character pieces on Italian subjects, runs a constant exploration of the unique resonances of the piano, especially those created through the use of the sostenuto pedal. Five Pieces from 2010 was composed for and is dedicated to Jenny Q Chai.
